Cartagena hosted the World Bank and CIF Clean Energy Learning Laboratory

Cartagena de Indias, September 2025.
The Hotel Las Américas and its Convention Center were the official venue for the World Bank's Climate Investment Funds' Clean Energy Learning Laboratory (CELL) 2025, an international meeting that reaffirmed Cartagena as a strategic destination for high-level events.
The event, held from September 9 to 13, was organized by the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) in collaboration with the Government of Colombia and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). It brought together delegates from more than 30 countries to discuss climate finance, the energy transition, and mechanisms to promote country-led transformations.
During three days of academic programming, technical sessions, panels, and interactive workshops were held in which participants shared experiences, analyzed case studies, and explored strategies to operationalize transformational climate finance.
In the words of the organizers, CELL seeks to consolidate itself as a key tool to offer "knowledge as a service", providing governments and private sector actors with strategies, tools and learning that strengthen their clean energy investment plans.
The meeting was attended by high-level representatives of governments, multilateral development banks, investors and the CIF Secretariat, consolidating this space as a benchmark for international cooperation in the field of energy transition.
With this global event, the Hotel Las Américas and its Convention Center reaffirmed their position as the only complex in Cartagena with the ability to connect more than 500 rooms with a flexible and multifunctional convention center, capable of hosting more than 7,000 attendees in an environment that combines hospitality, world-class infrastructure and the #SavorCartagena seal.
